Revolut launches 5.25% savings rate offer for new customers in France
The offer comes as the digital bank expands its presence in France
Revolut is offering new customers in France a savings rate of 5.25% gross for up to four months, as the digital bank steps up its expansion in the country.
The offer, launched on August 25, is available to eligible new customers whatever Revolut subscription they choose. It applies to savings of up to €25,000.
To qualify, customers must be resident in France, aged 18 or over and have passed Revolut's identity checks after August 25, 2026. They must also have never held a Revolut personal account or an Instant Access Savings account.
After opening their Revolut account, customers have 30 days to open their first Instant Access Savings account and take up the offer.
How the rate works
The 5.25% is a gross annual interest rate, paid daily, for a maximum of 120 days.
The rate applies to up to €25,000 across a customer's personal Instant Access Savings accounts. Any amount above this earns the standard rate for their Revolut plan.
For example, keeping €25,000 in the account for the full four months would generate some €432 in gross interest, before tax.
There is no minimum deposit, and customers can add or withdraw money at any time.
Some customers may have to meet additional conditions during the promotion period to keep the 5.25% rate.
If this applies, the customer will receive a ‘Conditions Document’ by email before the savings account is opened which explains the requirement.
This may involve making genuine purchases with a Revolut card. Money transfers, currency exchanges, crypto transactions, digital wallet top-ups and gambling payments do not count.
Customers who do not receive a Conditions Document do not have an additional condition attached to their boosted rate, according to Revolut.
What happens after four months?
After the maximum 120-day promotional period, the account switches to the standard rate for the customer's subscription.
Revolut's French savings offer currently advertises rates of up to 2.5% gross, depending on the plan and balance. The rates can change and interest is subject to applicable taxes.
Eligible deposits are currently protected up to €100,000 under Lithuania's deposit guarantee scheme.
Revolut Bank UAB provides the service through its French branch, which is supervised in France by the Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR).
The savings promotion comes shortly after Revolut announced plans to move its French customers to a new French banking entity following the granting of its full French banking licence.
The bank is also preparing to open its Western European headquarters in Paris in 2027 and is exploring possible locations for opening airport lounges in France.
