Ski station up for sale at €550,000
Owner puts resort on small-ads websiteas he wants to retire
A FRENCH ski station has been put up for sale on the small ads website leboncoin.fr as the owner wants to retire.
The 1,100m Loge des Gardes ski station in Laprugne (Allier) is offered at €550,000 complete with its three ski-tows, a ski-hire shop with more than 500 pairs of skis, a caterpillar tracked vehicle, tractor and even a crêperie. It also has two chalets and equipment for summer activities.
With just 2km of ski slopes it is not aimed at performance skiers but it also has up to 20km of cross-country skiing.
Marc Trancart, who has owned Loge des Gardes since 2001, said that it did between €200,000 and €350,000 of trade a year. It is close to the RN7 main road and just 28km from Roanne, 41km from Thiers and 47km from Vichy.
He said that its advantage was that it was not expensive, with a day’s skiing last season costs €14, half typical Alpine prices.
