SNCF experiments with scooter hire
Visitors to Paris can pick up an electric scooter for the day, starting in September
THE SNCF is to branch out into a new area with the launch of an electric scooter hire scheme in Paris this autumn.
The new service will start in September at the Gare Montparnasse, the busy mainline terminal linking the capital to the west of France.
The experiment is targeted at frequent travellers who visit Paris for a day with little luggage, either for business or leisure.
Scooters will cost €25 for a day or €18 for a half-day.
The pilot scheme is a partnership between the SNCF and Peugeot and could be extended to other stations if successful.
