UPDATE: The Artist back on screens
After winning three Golden Globes, including a best actor award for Jean Dujardin, The Artist is to return to French cinemas just weeks before the Oscars
FRENCH film The Artist is to return to French screens after winning three Golden Globes in Beverly Hills with best picture, musical or comedy, best actor in a musical or comedy for Jean Dujardin and best original score for Ludovic Bource.
The Michael Hazanavicius film is being relaunched so that people who missed it first time round can catch up.
It is the first French film to win a best film Golden Globe and its triple A win marked a glory night for France.
The judges also voted Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris best screenplay and Martin Scorsese best director for Hugo, which was set in a Paris railway station. It was a third Golden Globe for Scorsese and a second for Allen.
Jean Dujardin's Golden Globe is the first for a French actor since Gérard Depardieu won in 1991 for Green Card.
When the verdict for the best film, musical or comedy was announced the award was received by producer Thomas Langmann and he was joined on stage by the rest of the cast, including star dog Uggie - who nearly stole the show with a reprise of his film tricks.
Elsewhere, Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of TinTin was named best animated film.
Other top honours went to George Clooney for best actor, in The Descendants, which also won best film. Meryl Street was best actress for The Iron Lady.
