Wind, rain and storms in south
Gusts of up to 130kph are expected in some areas, and between 10 and 20cm of rainfall
SIX departments in southern France have been placed on an orange weather alert by Météo France, with storms, strong winds and heavy rain forecast overnight.
Gusts of up to 130kph are expected in some areas, and between 10 and 20cm of rainfall.
The affected departments are the Aude, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Hérault, Pyrénées-Orientales and Tarn. The alert is in place until 13.00 on Tuesday.
Strong easterly winds are also likely to cause choppy waters on the Languedoc-Roussillon and the risk of some localised flooding on coastal paths.
