Artisanal brewer numbers have soared from just 200 in 2007 to 1,300 today
Advertisment
Artisanal brewers have grabbed a 5% share of the French beer market.
More drinkers are turning from old-style lagers and opting for beers with a range of flavours, brewed locally and that are environmentally friendly.
More than 500 beers are for tasting at the Paris Planète Bière festival on March 25 while artisanal beer has its own Brasseries Artisanales salon in Paris on March 17 and Saint-Malo on March 23.
