Fears for dolphin trapped in estuary

Rescuers due to make second bid to guide animal back out to sea after first attempt failed

RESCUERS were this morning due to try to guide a dolphin trapped in Brittany’s Rance estuary back out to sea.

The dolphin has been stuck in the estuary, between Saint-Malo and Dinard since the weekend.

An attempt yesterday by animal experts in kayaks and dinghies to lead the animal back out to the ocean failed.

Experts from the Al Lark association, which studies sea creatures along the coast of Ille-et-Villaine, say the animal appears to be physically healthy, but they are worried that it is showing signs of stress.
