Heatwave alert for Bouches-du-Rhône

Météo France issues warning as night time temperatures fail to drop below 20°C while day time ones hit mid 30s.

Elderly people in the Bouches-du-Rhône should take precautionary measures as Météo France issues a heatwave aleart in the department.
While temperatures are far from record-breaking levels, the consistent heat can put certain people at risk from exhaustion.
Those most at risk are the elderly, those suffering chronic illness and those on medication. Children are also at risk.
The government advises those at risk to close shutters and avoid going outside during the hottest hours (between 11.00 and 21.00) and drink regularly – at least 1.5 litres a day.
Take showers or baths during the day and air your home at night. If you do go out, wear a hat and spend some time in cool places like supermarkets etc.
