Young girl praised for pool rescue

10-year-old resuscitates her younger brother who fell into family pool in the Gard

A 10-year-old girl has saved her younger brother from drowning in the family swimming pool by quickly administering first-aid while calling for help.

The girl has been praised for her quick thinking when her three-year-old brother fell into the pool in Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas in the Gard.

She rescued his unconscious body from the pool and resuscitated him. Her shouting alerted neighbours who came to help and called the Samu paramedics.

The young boy was airlifted to hospital in Montpellier and is said to be in a stable condition, according to local newspaper Midi Libre.
