Bird brain

The storks mentioned in the last issue (Letters) were in fact cranes, les grues, on their migration across France between Spain, where they spend the winter months, and the Netherlands for the summer.

A wonderful sight and sound indeed as hundreds fly in waves way up in the sky. And now is the time to look and listen out, as their northwards migration heralds the welcome arrival of summer.
