How can I check how many points I have on my French driving licence?
There are several ways in which you can check remanning points on a French licence online. We explain
Reader question: French driving licences do not show the points remaining on them. How can I check?
If you are unsure how many points you have left, you can easily check this online.
You can connect to this using the FranceConnect service if you are in the French social security system and have an existing account with a partner site such as ameli.com or impots.gouv.fr. Alternatively, connect using a Télépoints code on the last letter you received telling you that points are being withdrawn due to a road traffic offence. If you do not have it, you can also click to Récupérer (retrieve) code, for it to be sent to your phone.
You will also need your NEPH number, which can be found on the back of a French driving licence at the top left.
Licences start with 12 points (six for new drivers), with points lost for offences such as speeding or going through red lights.
