This dome is the most-photographed landmark of its home city

This iconic dome features on the most-photographed building in this mystery French city.

The dome is actually a chapel, built in around the 18th Century. It was added as part of a hospital dating to 1197 that used to accommodate plague victims.

Its name was inspired by the fact that it was constructed on a gravel bank by the river – as well as ‘serious’, grave also means ‘gravel’ in French.
