1,500 French restaurants offer 50% discount as part of food festival
Tables can be booked through TheFork website with participating restaurants located across the country. The offer will end on June 5
Restaurant-goers in France can for the next six weeks benefit from a 50% discount at 1,500 different restaurants around the country as part of the annual TheFork Festival.
TheFork, owned by TripAdvisor, is an online restaurant reservation platform, with 60,000 partner establishments around the world. It enables users to consult reviews and check availability and search for special offers.
Its TheFork Festival seeks to attract more diners to participating restaurants, which will give customers the chance to enjoy menus of various different cuisines at half the usual price.
This year’s festival will last until June 5 and you must make a booking and go to the restaurant before or on this date in order to benefit from the discount.
Of the 1,500 participating French restaurants, there are around 300 in Paris, as well as plenty in Nice, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Lyon and other towns and cities. Even small towns and villages such as Bécherel in Brittany have some restaurants taking part in the festival.
How to make the most of the 50% discount
You can find participating restaurants by visiting TheFork website and entering the name of a particular restaurant or just your town in the search bar at the top.
You will then be presented with a list of the restaurants offering discounts, although some offers may not be related to the festival.
After selecting a restaurant, you must then book a table through the TheFork platform, making sure to click the -50% option rather than ‘réservation sans offre’ to benefit from the deal.
You can only book tables if you have a TheFork account but these are free to create.
‘Instants Michelin’
TheFork Festival 2022 also includes an ‘Instants Michelin’ section, through which several Michelin-starred restaurants are also offering deals such as a €60 or €70 per person menu.
Again, to benefit from this you will need to make sure you have selected the offer rather than clicking ‘réservation sans offre’.
