1935 Aston is star of classic car sale

A 1935 Aston Martin Works Ulster LM19 is the star lot at a prestigious classic car auction to be held by Bonhams at the Grand Palais in Paris this month.

The classic car, valued at between €1.6-€1.8million, raced at the 1935 Le Mans 24-hour and was fifth in its class.

It is still roadworthy and the lucky owner would be eligible to enter it into all the historic motor sports events – including Le Mans and the Mille Miglia, where it competed in 2004.
The collection of vehicles on sale on February 9 spans more than a century of classic cars. Another British classic on the podium is a 1957 Bentley S1 Continental Cabriolet, which is expected to sell for between €1-1.5million.

There is also a 1985 Audi Quattro Sport SWB Coupé (€330,000-€400,000), a 1923 Bugatti Type 27 Brescia Torpedo (€380,000-€540,000) and a 1934 Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spider (€550,000-€750,000).

The auction coincides with the week-long Retromobile classic car event at the Porte de Versailles which will feature the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger.
