A batch of smoked salmon sold in E. Leclerc supermarkets across France has been recalled due to a risk of listeria contamination.
The product should not be consumed and shoppers should either throw it away or take it back to Leclerc for a refund, the official recall notice from February 22 states on national recall website RappelConso.

Anyone who has already eaten the product may be at risk of listeriosis, and should be aware of symptoms such as fever, headaches, and aches and pains in the eight weeks after eating.
Anyone who feels symptoms within this time should consult their doctor, and report consumption of the smoked salmon, said RappelConso.
It added: “Listeriosis is a potentially serious disease with an incubation period of up to eight weeks. “Pregnant women, as well as immunocompromised and elderly people, should be particularly attentive to these symptoms.
“Serious forms [of listeriosis] with neurological complications and maternal or foetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur.”
