Battery-powered tour of Brittany
Three-day Breizh Electric Tour aims to promote take-up of electric vehicles in a region with 600 charging stations - but there's still more to do to reduce pollution, say officials

Seventy electric vehicles are taking part in a three-day tour of Brittany to promote eco-friendly driving in the region.
The three-day Breizh Electric Tour, which left Rennes on Thursday, will make use of the network of 600 charging stations across the four departments, to ensure the vehicles can keep going.
The aim is to promote electric mobility and demonstrate that there is little risk of drivers being stranded without power in a part of the country where the number of public charging points is well above average.
Rally organiser Jean-François Villeret told 20minutes.fr: "The network of terminals is very dense here. This rally could not take place everywhere in France."
But, there is more that could be done to reduce pollution, regional environmental official André Crocq added. "This is a genuine response to air quality issues," he said, adding that "what we need above all is to change how people use vehicles so that each car carries more than one person."
