Bordeaux to Paris in two hours
The days of two-hour train travel from Paris to Bordeaux are fast approaching, after the high-speed train line (LGV) linking the two cities was inaugurated by President Hollande.
Passengers must wait until July 2 for the speedy 2hr4min journey but the line’s official opening took place at the logistics base of Villognon, Charente north of Angoulême.
The TGV Ouest and TGV L’Océane lines both open on July 2 and fares for early bookers are much cheaper than expected with Paris-Bordeaux €45, Paris -Rennes or Nantes for €35, La Rochelle St Malo and Brest for €40, Quimper for €45, and Toulouse and the Basque coast for €49.
