Cold spell to hit France this week
Chance of snow in the east on Thursday, and temperatures struggling to get above 10°C in the north
TEMPERATURES in France are set to drop below the seasonal norm this week - with even the chance of some snow in the east later this week - as the first cold spell of the season kicks in.
Météo France says cold air from Germany will start to be felt from Wednesday, with fresh winds, grey skies and temperatures in the north struggling to get above 5°C in the morning and between 10-15°C after lunch.
The cold snap will hit the south as well, where afternoon temperatures are forecast to stay below the 20°C mark on Wednesday.
Clear skies on Wednesday night will bring overnight frost and daytime temperatures on Thursday are forecast to be in the region of 10-13°C in the north and 15-20°C further south.
The forecaster says there is a chance of snow as low as 1,000 metres in the Massif Central, Alps and Jura on Thursday. The cold spell is expected to last into the weekend.
