Covid-19 France and Bac: Written part cancelled
Pupils who were due to sit the baccalauréat exam this year will not have to take any written exams, the Education Minister, Jean-Michel Blanquer has announced.

Instead they will be evaluated on their marks during the year under continuous assessment (contrôle continu).
The notes they received during confinement will not be taken into account but marks received for the early bac exams in Première (aged 17) , notably for the French written and oral exams, will be taken into consideration.
Pupils in troisième (aged 15) who were due to sit the brevet exam will also be assessed on their marks of the year and will not have any written exams.
Distinctions/Honours (mention très bien, bien, and assez bien) can still be given by examiners.
For pupils in Première, all exams are cancelled apart from their oral exam of French, which is due to take place at the end of June or the beginning of July.
For the other exams, they will also be assessed on their marks during the first and second trimesters.
Final year students (terminale level) who do not sit and need to retake exams will be able to sit oral exams in July, as usual.
Those who do not pass the exam in June may, by decision of the board of examiners, be allowed to participate in a new session, in September, Mr Blanquer said.
