GOVERNMENT plans to save money could doubly hit people who employ homeworkers.

They have said they plan to reduce most niches fiscales (ways in which individuals can reduce their tax bills) by 10% over two years - likely to include the income tax credits against money paid for work by nannies or children’s tutors etc.

On top of this however, according to Le Figaro they are also considering removing one of the options for paying employers’ social charges on schemes like the Chèque Emploi Service Universel, Cesu, system (see our helpguide for more on this).

Under one option, you pay based on the minimum wage, but the employee receives reduced social security rights; under the other, you pay based on the actual wage and you get 15% off the usual employers’ charges.

It is this 15% reduction that may be removed.
