Depp and Paradis announce split
The actor and the singer/actress, who spend part of their time in France, are separating after 14 years
CELEBRITY couple Johnny Depp
and Vanessa Paradis have split up after 14 years.
The couple, who shared their time between Los Angeles and their Var country home at Plan-de-la-Tour, and have never married, made the announcement via Depp’s agent.
She said the separation was “amicable” and asked that their private lives be respected, and especially those of their two children Lily-Rose, 13 and Jack, 10.
Although Depp, 49, and Paradis, 39, had denied rumours of a split, they have not been seen in public together for more than year and Depp is rumoured to have had a relationship with his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard, 26.
In January Paradis said on Europe 1“You know, as soon as I eat three peas, I’m pregnant; if I visit a town, I’m buying a house; in winter I’m separating, in summer I’m getting married. For 15 years now I’ve been getting married every year, so if, on top of that, I have to respond to all the rumours…”.
As recently as last month Depp insisted “it’s not over”.
However daughter Lily-Rose recently fuelled more speculation by tweeting lyrics by singer Pink: “This used to be a Funhouse, but now it’s full of evil clowns.”
The couple met in Paris in 1998 and have led a discreet private life, formerly seen as one of the most stable of Hollywood couples.
