Woman takes sock full of rings, necklaces and ear-rings straight to gendarmes, who are trying to find owners
GENDARMES in the Ardèche are trying to track down the owners of a treasure trove of items of jewellery that were handed in by a woman after she found them in a sock while out walking her dog.
The honest dog-walker alerted officers to the find, when her dog spotted the sock laying in the ground while out walking in La Voulte-sur-Rhône.
Inside the sock were at least 20 necklaces, rings and ear-rings. Initial investigations suggest none of the items has been reported stolen so far.
Gendarmes have posted close-up photos of each item on their Facebook page and are inviting anyone who recognises them to come forward.
