The doctor of a struggling practice learns that some of his desperately ill patients have bought a ‘wonder elixir’ from a firm of charlatans.
The doctor is intelligent enough to realise that, not only will the elixir not cure his patients, but will make them sicker and may prove fatal.
However, he knows that the patients have placed their faith in the charlatans and may become angry with him to the extent of abandoning his practice.
Should he collude with the swindlers or risk telling the truth?
