DVLA system still has us on record
I wish to warn everybody about a problem we have suffered.
We came to France to live 10 years ago and exported our English vehicles, re-registering them in France.
However, one of the vehicles has been cloned in the UK and a parking penalty raised. Bailiffs visited our UK address and payment had to be made.
The original UK address and owner is still on the DVLA system so fines will be sent there, in our case £513, but it could be for more or worse if not reported quickly.
Anybody that has exported a UK vehicle could be subject to this criminal activity.
We are in the process of trying to produce the evidence for the council, the police, the enforcement agency and the DVLA to prove our innocence.
