Eco-loans launch officially today
Zero interest loans of up to €30,000 for energy saving work and assessments on your house now available.
ZERO interest loans for energy saving renovations should be available in banks from today.
The government has officially published laws allowing the éco-prêt à taux zéro which will be managed via banks.
It aims to reduce energy consumption of homes by 38% between now and 2020.
The Ministry for the Environment expects at least 200,000 renovations per year from 2010.
Until December 31, 2010, households with a ‘reference income’ (income as shown at the bottom of your avis d'imposition tax statement) of less than €45,000 will be able to combine the loan with certain tax credits available for the installation of environmental equipment.
It is repayable in ten years but can be extended to 15 via the bank.
