Useful website to help you understand legal matters in the different EU member states

THE European Union has introduced a useful website to help you understand legal matters in the different member states, including France.
Visit https://e-justice.europa.eu/home.do and click on “En: European e-justice portal” for the English content, choose your area of interest, eg. “legal aid”, then click
the French flag for information related to France.
If you will be appearing in court or want specialised legal advice, especially relating to litigious matters, you may want to use a barrister: www.avocats.fr allows you to type in a simple question (in French); it then asks for your postcode before listing suitable local professionals.
