Family seeks their ‘angelic’ helpers
A family wants to identify and thank four men who rescued them after their car slipped into a ravine
A FAMILY is seeking to identify four men who appeared “like angels” and saved their lives.
Last Thursday the Masmoudi family from the Lyon area were driving in the Collet d’Allevard area in Isère, when their car slipped on ice and fell into a ravine.
It caught on three tree stumps a few metres down, suspended above a sheer drop – at which point, says Le Figaro four men arrived “out of nowhere” and silently and efficiently rescued from the vehicle the father, two girls aged 11 and 13 and the son of a family friend - and the car itself.
Mr Masmoudi told Le Figaro: “In five minutes they got us out – honestly, like something you only see in films – we got over our shock and looked at each other, we turned round and there was no one there. My only memory of these people is a smile and then they went as they had come.”
“It’s a bit like they had come from Heaven – an angel for each of us,” said Sandra, 11.
According to Mr Masmoudi, who wants the men to come forward so he can thank them, they were aged 35-40 - and if they were angels, they were modern ones as they were driving a dark green Peugeot 306.
