France ruling on iPad translation

Tablet computer should be called an ardoise or tablette tactile

PATRIOTIC French speakers have been instructed they should call an iPad an ardoise ("slate") or tablette tactile.

The terms are among the latest put out by the Commission générale de terminologie et de néologie, which comes up with official French versions of English terms.

Its previous efforts include courriel for email (from courier électronique) and manche à balai ("broom handle") for joystick.
