France's Favourite Village 2025: when and how to tune in

The winner of France's Favourite Village (le village préféré des Français) will be announced during a programme presented by Stéphane Bern, airing on France 3 at 21:05 on July 2.
The annual competition by France Télévisions, asks the public to vote for their favourite on the shortlist. Voting was open online until March 7.
The 2025 shortlist of 14 villages features one village for each region of mainland France, and one to represent the French overseas territories.

A historical village with an abbey that was previously the site of a Benedictine monastery.

Part of the arrondissement of Rambouillet, this village has its own historical church and castles.
Grand'Rivière (Martinique)

The representative for the overseas territories in this year’s list, Grand'Rivière is known for its colourful, pastel-painted houses (and an imposing green, metal bridge).
Clécy (Calvados, Normandy)

A hotspot for outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking and mountain biking, Clécy and its surrounding area was given the title of ‘The Capital of Suisse Normande (Swiss Normandy)’ in 1932 by the then-tourism minister.
A medieval-era village located on the banks of the Dordogne river.
Lupiac (Gers, Occitanie)

This historical village is also known to be the birthplace of Charles de Batz de Castelmore d'Artagnan, one of the captains of the Musketeers, whose life was fictionalised in Alexandre Dumas’ book The Three Musketeers.
Favoured for its location in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Loire Valley, this village is also close to the Loire Anjou Touraine French regional natural park.
