Have you won €170m on lottery?
Single winner of record-breaking €170m Euro Millions is in France, but lottery owners will not reveal where
THE sole winner of the €170m Euro Millions jackpot bought their ticket in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Whoever picked the five numbers 11, 16, 21, 24 and 29, plus the stars two and six, has won the largest jackpot to be awarded in France, beating odds of 116,531,800 to one.
According to the magazine Challenge, this will make them the 221st richest person in France.
The jackpot beats the record for winnings in France, previously held by a player in Calvados, Normandy, who won €162m on Euro Millions on September 13, 2011.
Le Parisien was quick to point out that the number 13 featured again - with the draw being the 13th since the last one when a jackpot was won and it took place on November 13.
Organisers of the draw in France, Française des Jeux, originally said they would not reveal the location where the winning ticket was purchased in order to avoid fraudulent claims, however it has since emerged that the winning ticket was bought in the Alpes-Maritimes.
The winner has 60 days to claim the prize.
