Increased property tax predicted
The taxe foncière will go up by as much as 20% in the next three years, a body claims
TAXE foncière is likely to go up by about 15 – 20% in the next three years, say landlords' representatives.
UNPI, a body representing property owners, is predicting an “explosion” in the taxe foncière which is paid by homeowners.
Owners who rent out their properties to others, who have to pay this tax, will be hit by increases due to difficulties being faced by local authorities, UNPI says.
The body believes local authorities are going to have to steeply increase local taxes – especially the taxe foncière - due to losses and new expenses caused by the economic crisis and decentralisation.
