A website which helps families organise exchanges to learn foreign languages has free registration until August 31.
Lingoo.eu helps families to organise exchange trips between themselves.
Spokeswoman Vanessa Green said the website was an opportunity for English-speaking families in France to earn some money hosting young people wanting to learn the language.
The recently-launched site will initially concentrate on exchanges between France and the UK but has plans to branch out to other European countries.
Ms Green said children of British parents who were passing through the French school system could also use the site to arrange stays with other English-speaking families.
In future they could also offer the chance for children from other countries to learn English in France.
Site founder Anne Goldstein said: “Through Lingoo, language exchange and paid stay holidays for children are organised directly between families.
“There is no agent involved. Parents can select which family they would like to set up a language holiday with – based on similar aged children, similar interests, similar values or similar religious beliefs.
“They will have the opportunity to get to know them online before committing to the language exchange. Lingoo.eu is easy to use and is a safe and secure site.”
Visitors can register on the site for free until the end of August. Normal fees are €100 for host families and €70 for those hosting.
