Météo France warns of further heatwave for south east
Météo France has warned of ‘heatwave’ conditions in the south east of France from tomorrow onwards.
After the storms of this evening, high temperatures are expected to remain in Provence and Corsica, reaching up to 40°C in Corsica, and an average of 34-38°C at the height of the day in Provence.
The rest of the country will not be as affected; with the north-west seeing minimums of around 13-15°C, and an average across the country of between 14-20°C.
The south west and the Massif Central regions will yet see temperatures of between 29-35°C, but Alsace, Charente and Brittany will be cooler, seeing between 19-29°C on average.
The ‘caniculaire’ (heatwave-like) conditions will come just 24 hours after storms hit everywhere from the Massif Central to Alsace, as Meteo France has today put 23 departments on orange storm alert.
