Using your credit card details online, by phone or by mail, leads to more fraud

USING your credit card details online, by phone or by mail, leads to more fraud than using it in a shop, and the amount of crime is rising.

Distance shopping fraud in 2009 rose to 0.263 per cent of business as against 0.252 per cent in 2008.

Shop and automatic purchases (at a petrol pump) using a pin code were just 0.014 per cent of frauds.

If you fear a fraud, let your bank know immediately.
