Motorway tolls rise from today
Tolls for the péages are up by more than inflation, at 2-3%
TAKING the motorway costs an average 2.33% more from today.
The increase in autoroute tolls varies according to the regional company that runs your network, from 2% for Escota (Provence Alpes-Côte d’Azur) to 3% for Paris-Normandie.
The hike is above inflation, which was 2.1% last year.
The motorway companies have justified the increase by the effort they put into looking after the roads. For example, Sanef (for the north and east), announced it spent €166 million last year on maintenance and improvements.
A survey by Asfa, a body for the motorway companies, showed users think France has a good quality motorway network, marking it eight out of ten overall. There was some room for improvement in “better integrating the motorways into the scenery”, rated 7.6 out of 10.
