TOP-UP health insurers will be required to tell customers how much of their premium is spent on costs other than healthcare from later this year.

A break-down of how much goes on administrative and marketing costs must be included in each mutuelle’s annual round-up of fees, which sets out the timetable for paying next year’s premiums and has to be sent out by the end of December.

It should make it easier for customers to shop around and to see where their money goes.
