Natural disaster claims for many French communes
The historic town of Eymet, Dordogne, known for its large British population, is among a raft of French communes today announced as having suffered a ‘catastrophe naturelle’ in floods and mudslides in June.
That means that those who suffered damage have ten days to put in their insurance claims under their natural disaster cover in home insurance.
The full list of communes affected by the accouncement, which are in many parts of France, can be found at this link – scroll down for your department or use ‘Control key + F’ to do a word search for your town or village.
It comes after some 340 other communes in 19 departments were announced on Sunday as having had natural disasters (that list can be consulted here).
If in doubt about claims in your area it is advisable to consult your mairie.
