New London - Brest easyJet route to begin this week

It is the second route between the two cities

The low-cost carrier is offering several new UK-France flights this summer

Low-cost carrier easyJet is expanding its list of flights between France and the UK with a new Brest-London route.

Flights between Brest and London-Gatwick airports will run twice per week – Wednesdays and Sundays – starting on June 25.

The service will continue into the winter, where it will switch to run on Thursdays and Sundays.

Tickets for all scheduled flights are available now, starting from €61 one way (for summer trips) via the easyJet website.

It is the first easyJet route out of the Brittany airport, however rival low-cost airline Volotea currently runs a twice-weekly service between Brest and London-Gatwick on Mondays and Thursdays.

Passengers can therefore fly out with one airline and back with another, leading to potentially higher fees but greater flexibility with flights available between the two cities four days of the week.

The route is a further expansion to easyJet’s offerings between the UK and France, which have been bolstered for the summer season with several new routes, and is now seeing winter services added for later in the year.

However, the airline recently closed its base in Toulouse, halving the number of destinations served from the airport.

Despite this, the airline recently announced that the popular London Gatwick - Toulouse route would open again in the summer.
