Open weekend for butchers
1,000 butchers across the country invite you to take a close look at their work – and maybe find a new vocation.
ABOUT 1,000 butchers across France are holding open door events this weekend.
The Confédération Française de la Boucherie Charcuterie Traiteurs (CFBCT)
has organised the event to promote recruitment and training in the trade.
It claims 4,000 jobs become available in the sector every year and says it welcomes apprentices of all ages.
During the weekend 24h chez mon artisan boucher there will be demonstrations of how to cut and prepare meat and charcuterie and talks by those who have recently taken up the trade.
Butchers will also share recipes and hold tasting sessions. Others will be offering aperitifs.
Guided visits have also been organised for certain school groups.
