Options for selling off goods
There are several good ways to sell off your old items and make money rather than just taking them to the tip.
THERE are several good ways to sell off your old items and make money rather than just taking them to the tip.
The tried-and-tested include taking part in a local vide-grenier (car boot sale) up to two times a year (this involves a fee to rent a pitch), or selling on an online auction site such as www.ebay.fr or www.priceminister.fr
One alternative to the straightforward auction site is using one like www.france-troc.com, where users advertise items and arrange exchanges with each other (sometimes with part of the value made up in cash).
Then there is the dépôt-ventes (see www.troc.com or www.lacaverne.com), an arrangement whereby you hand over your goods and they are evaluated and put on sale (in a shop and/or online).
They remain yours until they sell, at which point you are paid, minus a commission.
“Cash converters”, on the other hand, are shops where you take in items and are paid for them on the spot. The shop then sells them on its own behalf.
See www.toutcash.com, www.cashexpress.fr or www.cashconverters.fr for branches in your area.
