PM’s tweet linked to sexy dress site
Matignon official posted wrong link in message about plans to combat Al-Qaida
A CIVIL servant at the Prime Minister’s office sent Twitter followers to a sexy clothing website by mistake on Sunday – instead of directing them to details of a new plan to combat Al-Qaida.
The mistake, by an official at the Direction de l’Information Légale et Administrative (Dila) at Matignon, was included in a tweet on financial restrictions on certain people with links to the terrorist group.
It should have sent followers to the Legifrance website where details of the changes were given (bit.ly/17ITuhV) but instead sent them to a website called Forplay with sexy clothing and underwear (tinyurl.com/kuy8jbf).
The mistake went unnoticed for several hours until it was spotted on Monday and deleted. The correct link was then inserted – with an apology from the Dila for its “fault” which it blamed on a URL bug.
