Pont-l’Évêque cheese recalled across France over E.Coli risk

‘Petit Pont-l’Évêque’ cheese is being recalled across France because of a potential E.Coli contamination.

The product is sold by shops including Grand Frais, Fresh and Mon Marché.

The cow’s milk cheese comes in a 240g package under the La Perelle brand and is square shaped. It was sold between September 24 and October 13.

The product’s:

• Use-by date is November 17, 2022

• Barcode is 3252950007678

Government website RappelConso recommends that people having bought the cheese do not eat it, but instead throw it away or take it back to the shop.

E.Coli infections can result in symptoms from three days after the contaminated food is consumed, with bad stomach cramps and diarrhoea, perhaps accompanied by a fever.

If you have eaten the cheese concerned by the recall and experience these symptoms, you should go to your doctor and explain.

The recall procedure will last until November 1.
