Puy du Fou looks abroad
Extravagant theme park Puy du Fou marked its 40th birthday this summer with the news it is expanding to set up sister parks in Spain at Toledo and, in the next decade, China.
Famed for spectacular and pyrotechnic historical re-enactments, it is more than a key destination in Vendée as it is France’s most popular theme park after Disneyland Paris, with more than two million visitors. In 2016 founder Philippe de Villiers paid €377,000 for a ring that belonged to Joan of Arc to be displayed at the park.
