Several train promos launch in France

SNCF is relaunching its ‘Jours Traincroyables’ (Incredible Train Days) campaign, now in its fourth edition, running from September 2 to 23.

Over this period, SNCF says several hundred thousand seats will be released at reduced prices across its Ouigo, TER, Intercités and TGV Inoui services, as well as on TGV Lyria and Eurostar routes into neighbouring countries.

200,000 Ouigo tickets from €19

The first offer of the campaign is a flash sale of Ouigo tickets running for just 48 hours, on Wednesday September 2 and Thursday September 3. During this window, 200,000 tickets will go on sale for a maximum of €19 each.

The discounted fares apply to one-way journeys taken between September 8 and December 13, 2026, and cover both Ouigo Grande Vitesse (high-speed) and Ouigo Train Classique services. More than 70 destinations are included across France and Belgium, among them the Paris-Brussels route.

Note that a €19 ticket is not guaranteed on every train or at every time slot. Availability at this price depends on factors including the date and time of travel, the specific route, how full the train already is, and how many discounted seats remain when you book.

There is no income requirement or discount card needed to access the sale - it is open to all travellers, within the overall limit of 200,000 tickets. The advertised price is per person, for a one-way trip, including tax, although optional extras can push up the final cost.

More offers to follow throughout September

SNCF has not yet revealed every promotion. Further deals are expected to be announced gradually over the course of the month, covering TER regional trains, Intercités services, and TGV Inoui trains to selected European destinations. Travellers interested in these options are advised to keep checking SNCF's website for updates as they are published.

According to SNCF the aim is to make rail travel more accessible during the late-summer and back-to-school period, when SNCF says it puts out roughly twice as many discounted tickets as during a typical summer.

Tips for finding a cheap ticket

With only 200,000 tickets available at the promotional price over just two days, popular dates and departures may sell out quickly. To improve your chances:

• Check fares as soon as possible

• Compare several possible departure and return dates

• Try different times of day on the same route

• Be flexible on destination where possible

• Compare Ouigo Grande Vitesse and Ouigo Train Classique options

• Avoid the busiest travel slots if you can

Friday evenings, Sunday evenings and the start of school holidays tend to be in high demand, so travelling midweek or at less popular times can improve your odds of securing a €19 fare.

Where to book

Tickets can be booked via the Ouigo website and app, on SNCF Connect, and through SNCF-approved online travel agencies. Deciding on your preferred dates and destinations in advance means you can compare options quickly once online.

Exchanges and refunds

As with other Ouigo tickets, those bought during the flash sale are generally non-cancellable and non-refundable if you decide not to travel. However, tickets can be exchanged or modified up until 30 minutes before departure, subject to the applicable conditions.

Without a specific option, changing the date, time or route can incur exchange fees of up to €19 per ticket, plus any difference in fare with the new ticket - though if the new journey is cheaper, the difference is not normally refunded. Travellers who have taken out the OUIGOFLEX option benefit from different exchange terms, so it is worth checking the conditions shown at the time of booking.

SNCF says further offers for TER, Intercités and European destinations will be unveiled as the campaign continues through to September 23.
