Météo-France issues weather alerts for departments across a swathe of France from Aquitaine to Normandy
NATIONAL forecaster Météo-France has placed 43 departments on orange alert with storms forecast to hit a swathe of the country from Aquitaine to Normandy.
All departments in Aquitaine, Haute-Normandie, Ile-de-France, Limousin, Midi-Pyrenees, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Picardy, and the departments of Cher, Eure, Eure-et-Loir, the Indre, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret have been put on orange alert until tomorrow at 3am.
While 11 departments were on orange alert yesterday, residents in the Eure and Seine-Maritime were caught by surprise, as unexpected storms caused trees to fall, damaged property and led to floods, paris-normandie.fr reports.
