French weekend weather outlook December 14 - 15: gloomy and chilly in the north
Cloudy skies are expected to dominate in the north, but in the south temperatures will still reach double figures
Storms to hit north of France and temperatures climb to 25C in south
Temperatures will remain above average despite rain and clouds
Temperatures across France are set to be significantly higher than seasonal averages this weekend, even with storms hitting the north.
South of the Loire, temperatures will be around 20C on Saturday and Sunday (March 16 and 17), rising to 25C in Perpignan and the neighbouring area.
However, much of the south with the exception of the Mediterranean coastline will be cloudy for most of the weekend, despite the high temperatures.
The national average temperature this weekend will be around 5C higher than usual for the season.
In the north and north-east, stormy weather is set to arrive early this afternoon (March 15).
It will move south-east throughout the day from the English Channel to the German and Swiss borders, hitting the capital around midday.

The storm will dissipate by Saturday morning, although some patches of rain may fall for the rest of the weekend, particularly on Sunday.
The storms are not set to be as powerful as last weekend’s in the south in which six people died and one person is still missing.

No heightened weather alerts are currently in place, although a number of departments are facing tier-two yellow warnings, particularly in the north for today’s storms.
Currently, none of these warnings are set to rise over the weekend. You can keep up to date with all weather alerts using the official Météo France website.
