Town is put up for sale on eBay
Protestors have offered Lamorlaye for sale to protest against the mayor’s plans to build a biogas waste treatment plant
A TOWN has been put up for sale on eBay as a protest against the mayor’s plan to build a biogas plant to treat household waste.
Lamorlaye, a town in Picardy of 9,000 inhabitants, was offered at a starting price of one centime – and had reached €15,000 and some wheelbarrows before eBay took it down from the site.
The ad said Lamorlaye, which is about 35km from Paris and not far from Charles de Gaulle Airport, was for sale to protect it from the mayor and big business. Inhabitants wanted to publicise their protest against the biogas plant.
