Traffic congestion this weekend
Both today and tomorrow will see difficult road conditions across France says traffic service Bison Futé
TRAFFIC conditions service Bison Futé has put in place orange and red alerts for congestion today and tomorrow.
The problems are being caused by large numbers heading off for summer holidays as well as the first juilletistes (people who took theirs in July) coming back.
There is an orange alert (difficult conditions) for outbound journeys this morning all over France. There will also be difficult conditions later in the day when rush hour work traffic and holiday traffic combine.
Bad areas today are expected to include:
- the A10 near Orléans from 11.00 – 19.00
- the A6 to the north of Lyon until 19.00
- the A7 between Vienne and Orange until 18.00
- the A8 and A9 near Nice, Marseille, Montpellier and Narbonne from 15.00 – 20.00
- the A13 in Normandy from 17.00 – 19.00
- motorways through Aquitaine towards the end of the day
Tomorrow conditions are predicated to be very difficult in the morning and evening across the country and very difficult all day in the south-east.
Traffic is expected to flow well on Sunday morning but there will be an orange alert in the evening in the south.
