Several seasonal flights have been extended into the winter period

Low-cost airline Transavia has announced a major expansion to its operations from western France, with five new international flights scheduled for the upcoming winter 2026-2027 season.

The airline, a budget affiliate of the Air-France KLM group, also announced that several routes – including a Paris-UK service – would be maintained into the winter period.

The majority of the new and extended routes head southwards, providing travellers with the allure of some winter sunshine.

The new routes announced by the airline are:

  • Brest - Seville, Spain (Thursdays and Sundays)

  • Rennes - Seville, Spain (Mondays and Fridays)

  • Nantes - Sao Vicente, Cape Verde (Fridays)

  • Nantes - Cairo, Egypt (Wednesdays)

  • Bordeaux - Cairo, Egypt (Sundays)

All flights run during the winter period (end of October - end of March), with tickets now available to purchase on the Transavia website.

Tickets start at €42 one way between Brest and Seville, the cheapest route.

Winter expansion to Paris - Edinburgh route

Alongside the new flights, Transavia confirmed several seasonal routes would be extended into the winter period, providing year-round flights, or that some existing year-round routes would have additional winter services added.

Extended services, with their winter flight schedules, are:

  • Paris Orly - Edinburgh, UK (Mondays, Fridays, Sundays)

  • Paris Orly - Heraklion, Greece (Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays)

  • Paris Orly - Pisa, Italy (Mondays, Thursdays, Sundays)

  • Nantes - Tangiers, Morocco (Thursdays and Sundays)

  • Lyon - Fez, Morocco (Thursdays and Sundays)

  • Lyon - Palma de Mallorca, Spain (Wednesdays and Saturdays)

  • Marseille - Oran, Algeria (Wednesdays and Saturday)

  • Marseille - Seville, Spain (Thursdays and Sundays)

  • Montpellier - Djerba, Tunisia (Mondays)

The switch to the ‘winter’ schedule usually takes place in the first week of November.

Tickets for all routes are available to purchase on the Transavia website.

“With these new and extended routes for winter 2026, we are continuing our development strategy from regional airports and Paris-Orly,” said Deputy Managing Director of Sales at the airline Julien Mallard, quoted in Air Journal.

“Our flight schedule meets the continued strong travel demand from our customers eager to discover new horizons at attractive prices.”

The announcements come at a time where several airlines are attempting to quell fears over flight cancellations due to kerosene shortages. Transavia itself cancelled around 2% of flights in May and June over potential shortage issues.

However, low-cost competitor Ryanair recently said that it has ‘near-zero concerns’ over summer flight cancellations.
