UK residents vaccinated in France can now use NHS Covid pass
A new system allows foreign certificates for approved vaccinations to be uploaded to the app, permitting people affected to show their vaccination status at venues where Covid pass requirements apply
People who are resident in the UK but who were vaccinated abroad can now upload their vaccination certificates to the NHS app Covid pass, the UK government has announced.
This is on the proviso that they have received two doses of an approved jab, that is, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna or Janssen.
This announcement comes as the government confirms that international vaccination certificates which are accepted at the UK border – such as the European Digital Covid Certificate accessed through France’s TousAntiCovid app – can be used as an English Covid pass.
This Wednesday (December 15) sees the introduction of a Covid pass requirement for entry into large venues such as nightclubs or events of over 10,000 people (attending a football game, for example) in England.

The update to the NHS app system means that people who have perhaps been vaccinated in France but are now in the UK will be able to receive their booster there and display all three doses in the NHS app.
Previously, only people who had been vaccinated in England, Scotland or Wales could access the app’s Covid pass feature.
How do I upload my vaccination certificates to the NHS app?
UK residents who were vaccinated abroad must book an appointment to have their vaccination record updated through this NHS portal.
This will take you to a list of participating vaccination centres in England, where it will be possible to complete the process.
The data that you provide will be recorded in the National Immunisation Management System. Your vaccination certificate will then appear in the NHS app within five days.
A Department of Health and Social Care spokesperson said: "Once vaccinations are verified and recorded in the National Immunisation Management System, proof of vaccine certification can be displayed in the NHS Covid Pass and those who are eligible can arrange a booster jab."
You can use the service if you are over 18 years of age, have an NHS number and have received an approved vaccine.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland already have their own Covid pass systems, which came into effect before their English equivalent.
